Alan M. Taylor

Senior Advisor


Mr. Taylor is a senior advisor at PIMCO and serves as a professor of economics and finance at the University of California, Davis. He is also a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and a research fellow of the Center for Economic Policy Research in London, and he currently serves as a co-editor for the Journal of International Economics. In more than 25 years in academia he has written numerous articles and books, as well as essays on policy and commentary for the Financial Times, Foreign Affairs, Reuters, and other outlets. He has been a consultant or speaker for public sector organizations including various Federal Reserve Banks, the ECB, the IMF, the World Bank, IDB, BIS, and a number of global central banks. He has also served as a senior advisor at Morgan Stanley and as a consultant to various asset managers. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and an undergraduate degree in mathematics from King’s College, Cambridge.
