Mr. Balls is an executive vice president, a portfolio manager and global strategist in the Newport Beach office. He manages global generalist portfolios and is currently a member of the firm's investment committee. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2006, Mr. Balls spent eight years at the Financial Times, as chief economics correspondent in Washington and as an economics and finance commentator in New York and London. He has eight years of investment experience and holds a master's degree in economics and policy from Harvard University and an undergraduate degree from Oxford University. He was also a lecturer in economics at Keble College, Oxford.
